Now in its third year, Brisbane’s $30,000 acquisitive Emerging Indigenous Art Award has already made its mark and each year brings us a number of hot Indigenous art talents from throughout Australia. Usually there is a mixture of known and lesser-known work, and this year is no exception. Including 10 artists — from 20-year-old Beaver Lennon (South Australia) to Loongkoonan (Western Australia), who is 98 years old — it covers artistic territory as wide-ranging as the age span.
